Strawberry Lemon Smoothie is super tart from fresh lemon juice, and it’s rich with creamy strawberries. It’s as much a healthy slushie as it is a smoothie — full of tropical vibes and popping with flavor!
Lemon is such a vibrant flavor, and it’s my favorite smoothie ingredient. It sets of the fruitiness of the strawberry flavor perfectly.
This recipe is great for most whole food diets, including dairy-free, Paleo, Gluten-free, AIP, VAD and Vegan.
Jump to RecipeIngredients in Strawberry Lemon Smoothie
- strawberries, frozen
- milk of choice, such as almond for Paleo or oat milk for Gluten-free (See homemade milks below, if you prefer them over store bought options.)
- fresh lemon juice
- liquid sweetener, such as maple syrup or agave
- sea salt, or Potassium Salt for more electrolytes
Homemade non-dairy milk options
Buying non-dairy milks is not super affordable or sustainable, so if you prefer homemade, here are a few recipes that work great for smoothies:
- Homemade Macadamia Nut Milk
- Avocado Milk (AIP)
- Homemade Chestnut Milk
- Fermented Nut or Seed Milk
- Vegan Bean Milk (not Paleo)
How to make Strawberry Lemon Smoothie
- Place frozen strawberries in blender.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Blend until smooth. (I like to start on low speed and increase to high speed.) Use a spatula to release any air bubbles by the blade if the mixture is super thick, and then re-blend, as needed.
Leftovers make great popsicles
Any leftovers from the blender? Pour into popsicle molds, and freeze!
This smoothie makes a great popsicle!
I like these ice pop molds because you can pour just a little bit into one, if that’s all you have leftover, and you don’t need popsicle sticks! Plus, they’re fun to eat. My kids love them.
