What’s Inside Tumors: Heavy metals (And what to do about it) looks at C-related tumors, heavy metals, how to cleanse our bodies and what minerals we need for disease prevention.
Perhaps we never look at the C-word in the right way when we try and prevent it. I had an “aha” moment recently when I learned about two kinds of tumors, and decided to look into more.
It turns out that C-growths have something in common: Heavy metals are rampant inside and throughout C-type tissue.
Even my medical doctor agreed with my naturopathic doctor about what C* is!: Human cells surrounding and trying to protect us from one or more toxins, growing seemingly out of control as the toxins grow in volume.
One answer to preventing this American way of death may be simpler than we realized.
Several months ago, I started taking zeolite to adsorb heavy metals throughout my body. How fabulous that zeolite pulls heavy metals, like copper, to itself — and then safely ushers them from the body!
What is zeolite
Zeolite is a naturally occurring mineral with a unique, cage-like structure that attracts and traps toxins in the gut. It’s widely recognized for its detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties.
Zeolite works by binding to positively charged toxins โ such as heavy metals, ammonia, mycotoxins, and various environmental pollutants โ and helps eliminate them from the body before they can cause harm.
Let’s look at some specific tumors …
What’s inside thyroid tumors
Heavy metals such as copper, lead, cadmium, arsenic, manganese and mercury are considered toxic and can accumulate in the thyroid.
High copper levels are required for C-cell proliferation.
In this study, a plasma analysis showed higher copper and lower zinc levels in thyroid C* patients.
The fact is, most people have low zinc and high copper!
Another study supports this belief: “Thyroid cancer is the most common solid tumour cancer which starts when cells begin to grow out of control in the thyroid gland … It is believed that the accumulation of some metals or the deficiency of others may even cause lethal tumours.”
Anyone with health symptoms can look at a list of high copper symptoms and recognize some of their own.
Or, get tested by my doctor, to find out your exact copper, general heavy metal and mineral levels.
Examine your diet and lifestyle: If you eat a lot of colorful veggies, dark chocolate, take or took multivitamins, have copper water pipes, have had dental work, used birth control, have been exposed to insecticides or fungicides, done hormone replacement therapy, have stress or weakened adrenals, or a list of many other things, you’re likely copper toxic.
It’s no wonder C* loves Americans. We have copper coursing through us.
Don’t waste time: start detoxing the thyroid of heavy metals now
As one study shares, “… thyroid cells have a slow turnover time: human thyroid cells divide only five times during adulthood, and … the mutation rate is 8โ10 times higher than in other organs such as the liver or lungs, suggesting that thyroid cells may be more susceptible to the damage of exogenous toxicants. Metals could also preferentially damage the thyroid because of their increased bioaccumulation in the gland.”
If you struggle with any thyroid or hormone related issues, consider that there’s no better time than now to detox your thyroid.

Side note: Essential minerals
Numerous studies show that zinc and selenium are required for normal thyroid function.
If you’re not yet supplementing — outside of a multivitamin — I discuss the need for these minerals more below.
The calcium magnesium ratio
Lastly, we see in this study, that too much calcium in the blood, and not enough magnesium, is a condition that often goes hand in hand with thyroid C*.
We really need to hone in on the good minerals our bodies need, take in only dietary calcium (not calcium through supplements) and be sure we’re supplementing with good magnesium.
What’s inside colon tumors
Copper increases the risk factor for C*, and we find it inside C-type colon tumors.
As one study shares, “Colorectal cancer (CRC), the most common cancer originating in the intestines, thrives in an environment with elevated copper concentrations.” Medical science tends to draw conclusions about C* liking copper.
But what if we look at it slightly differently: C-type cells are trying to protect us from copper. They are human cells that grow around the copper to shield us. That’s why we find copper inside C-type tumors.
The cells are trying to do a good thing, but there is too much of that toxin.
Many studies have shown elevated levels of heavy metals in C-type colon tissue.
Low selenium, multiple heavy metals
Another study shows low levels of selenium, alongside high levels of copper, chromium, lead and other heavy metals in colorectal C* patients.
A range of factors โ such as environmental exposure, dietary habits and an individual’s genetic makeup โ may affect the presence of these metals.
What’s in breast C* tumors
Studies have identified higher levels of certain heavy metals โ such as arsenic, nickel, chromium, mercury, lead and cadmiumโin breast C* tumors compared to healthy breast tissue.
Some research also indicates a possible connection between elevated levels of these metals in the body and an increased risk of developing breast C*. (1, 2, 3, 4)
Heavy metals in prostate C* tumors
Researchers most often find cadmium, arsenic and lead in prostate C* tumors.
What’s in C-type gall bladder tissue
In C-type gall bladder tissue, selenium and zinc were significantly reduced, and copper was significantly higher.
Levels of lead, cadmium, chromium and nickel were found to be elevated also in the serum and bile of patients with gallbladder carcinoma.
How to use zeolite to adsorb heavy metals
In addition to diet and lifestyle choices, taking zeolite may be the best way to prevent C*.
No other supplement removes heavy metals from the body more effectively than zeolite.
I discuss how to take it just below.

Dosing zeolite
One crucial thing to understand about zeolite dosing: Taking too little can actually release more toxins than the zeolite can bind and remove.
It’s essential to take a sufficient amount to capture all the toxins that may be stirred up. If you experience symptoms, it usually means you need more zeolite, not less. Read more about the high-dose approach here to fully understand how it works.
The company recommends: Begin with 10g to 30g, depending on your suspected level of toxicity. For a more in-depth explanation, watch this video. Personally, I found that 20g and 30g werenโt quite enough โ those doses stirred up toxins and caused mild symptoms, indicating I needed more zeolite to bind and remove them. I now take 40g, which not only supports detox but also significantly improves my sleep. Most people experience improved bowel movements as well.
Over time, you can gradually reduce the dose. However, higher doses are key to reaching deeper levels of detox, as they help release and clear toxins stored deep in the body. Be sure to watch the full video (especially the later part) to hear their recommended approach for a comprehensive 5-month detox journey.

Conclusion
Whether C* cells use copper to proliferate — or try to protect us from it — they clearly show up with copper (and other heavy metals).
We need to actively support our bodies in clearing out copper and other heavy metals.
Diet
Reduce high copper foods. Unfortunately, dark chocolate and sweet potatoes are not health food. Sadly, neither is shellfish, or tofu, or buckwheat, or liver.

It doesn’t take billions of dollars and scores of years to end this American scourge through research and drugs. Grab your zeolite, reduce high copper foods, and get started on prevention.
Get your mineral levels checked
Finally, make sure you’re appropriately supplementing with minerals for your unique body.
See my doctor’s services here if you’d like one of his health facilitators to test your mineral needs. I finally did this for myself years ago, and continue to have my minerals checked, to make sure I’m supplementing correctly.
Zinc and selenium for most people, Magnesium for all
I am not a doctor and do not pretend to be one.
But … If I were talking to my own husband, sister, daughter or mother, and they were not yet supplementing certain minerals (which they all are, amen!), I’d tell them:
Most people can tolerate 15mg of zinc (find it here), and 100mcg of selenium (find it here) daily (but not everyone). Avoid multivitamins, which always contain unnecessary and often damaging vitamins.
We also learn from the studies shared in this post that high blood calcium is dangerous; instead look for sources of dietary calcium (high calcium anti-inflammatory non-dairy food list here).
And our bodies really need magnesium. (Find the best oral magnesium here, and a good topical Mg that I use here.)

Hi Megan, Iโm curious about this zeolite productโs heavy metal content and whether the company can provide you a recent COA? Thank you!
Megan says
Hi Skye, yes, they have a recent COA. You can find a video going over the third party testing documents on the education page of zeolitelabs.com. You can email [email protected] to request the documents, or I will add them here as well: Third party analysis of the composition of ZeoChargeโข which shows it isn’t contaminated with heavy metals, and it does have cations present for exchange. Also find attached a certificate of analysis which includes the measurement of clinoptilolite present which is 94%, which is important. Many zeolite supplements have much lower percentages of clinoptilolite which make the product less effective.

Hi, Megan!
Thank you for this article!
In your post, you mention sweet potatoes are not a health food. I have a 3 year old who is limited on what he can eat and has sweet potatoes daily. Is it the copper content I should be worried about? High vitamin A?
Thanks!
Tiffany
Megan says
Hi Tiffany, you’re welcome, and yes, both of what you said: Sweet potatoes are high in copper and vitamin A. I’m happy for you, though, that you’re seeing this now. My now-21-year-old had the same situation as your son at that age, but I didn’t know better, and I kept feeding him the foods I thought he could have. In my opinion, all most humans need is meat and fiber. Meat (especially grass-finished beef or buffalo or wild red meat game) provides not only protein but iron for growing kids and many other valuable nutrients like zinc. Fiber makes sure that we’re pooping, so detoxing. I’m happy to help you if you comment back on what sources of fiber he can have, if you need any support. Great sources of fiber include apples, kiwi, oatmeal, beans, prunes… Do any one or two of those work for him? If not, another option is to use SunFiber, starting slowly to introduce it gradually. It may seem horrible to have a child on a restricted diet, but as creative and fun as you can make it now is worth it in the long run for the trouble you’d be preventing in the future by putting in toxins now. ๐ (SunFiber: https://amzn.to/45dburZ)

Megan,
Thank you so much for the reply!
I believe we do the best that we can with the knowledge we have at the time. I am glad, too, for the information!
Our diet is mostly grass fed beef, rice, oats, asparagus and sweet potato. He can tolerate small amounts of fruit but it generally backs him up. I hadn’t thought of using SunFiber but I am familiar with it.
Thank you for the link!

Helen Blain says
Iโm going to start taking zeolite; do I need to continue using activated charcoal as well? Thanks for sharing this valuable information.
Megan says
Hi Helen, my pleasure, and yes. They do two different things. One works better in the stomach, and both adsorb different toxins throughout the GI tract. Activated charcoal is better at grabbing excess vitamin A, which can really wreak havoc on various organ systems as it detoxes. AC also helps to detox any alcohols that are produced in digesting certain toxins. Thankfully, AC is cheap so it’s easy to keep in. I mix both powders into the same mug/glass of water.
