These 40+ gifts are designed to restore, bring joy, make someone happy — and often healthier.
The gift ideas below are fully updated for 2024 and 2025 to meet the needs of most searched for categories: Gift Basket Ideas and Stocking Stuffers, Food-related Gifts, Women and/or Moms, For Him (For Men) and Teenage and Kids’ Gifts.
2024 online shopping
I’m sharing with you items that I’ve given or received and loved in the last couple of years, so I know they’re great! + new favorites!
I hope you enjoy these choices, and that some of them are helpful as you shop for loved ones, or add to your own wish list!
Most of the items I share in this collection are sustainable in one way or another — either healthier for your body than similar products, made from eco-friendly materials, or both.
Gift Basket Ideas and Stocking Stuffers
What to put into a gift basket (or stocking) that’s truly special and will surely be enjoyed.
- The Stainless Steel Manual Coffee Grinder brings pleasure to my husband daily. It’s hard to describe what makes these little gadgets so wonderful, but like any coffee ritual, it allows you to enter into the whole rich experience of your daily cup. Well-made, fun, and can be accompanied by a local roaster’s coffee, for the perfect, complete, special present — in a gift basket, or not. (Uniformly grinds coffee perfectly to whatever fineness you need.)
- Always a safe gift: a Hydro Flask Water Bottle (this is the revered wide-mouth model). Choose the best color for your loved one. Great price. Everyone needs one, and it’s nice to have two or more. Much better to drink out of stainless steel than plastic. And it’s insulated.
- My cookbooks. See them here and here. ♥
- Elastic Food Storage Covers are the best. I got these cloth covers for both my mom and me. You can’t go wrong replacing plastic wrap with washable easy to use and fit lids. I love these, and that they’re pretty.
- Having a little girl makes this fun all over again, but also great for any teens or women on your list, Non-Toxic Nail Polish.
- Activated Charcoal Bar Soap is lovely, gentle and effective — great for use in the shower, or as a hand soap, with a beautiful fully natural scent.
- Tactical Pen — Maybe it’s that Mom part of me that used to run anxious, but I love the idea of having a pen in the car that can break through a window if needed. This one writes like a luxury pen, but then switches with a click to a glass breaker.
- Amazon Prime Gift Card — This gift allows your recipient to choose whatever they want or need, so it’s a thoughtful gift about which they’re sure to get excited.
- Extra-wide Stainless Steel Smoothie Straws capture kids’ (and adults’) hearts every time! As if stainless steel reusable straws weren’t nifty enough, these are extra-wide — a must for enjoying the texture of any good thick smoothie or milkshake.
Food stocking stuffers
- I think it would be hard to find a more delicious gift basket item. (Also perfect as a gift on its own or as a special stocking stuffer.) This is the very best creamy White Honey; it is incredible! SO special. For anyone in your life who is a true appreciator, foodie or honey lover.
- Kid, Dad or Mom Stocking Stuffer?: Bearded Brothers Food Bars — One of the only processed foods I can recommend, because the ingredients are actually organic, good and clean, amazing!! In the age of Red Bull and conventionally-sourced snack bars with pesticide residue, these make a great healthy alternative. Vegan, Paleo and more.
- Dang Coconut Chips — Individually wrapped bags of goodies, here’s another real food treat that’s rare to find these days.
- One more of the same ilk: Organic Plantain Chips, the best version of this product, organic and all.
- The best Beef Jerky Sticks, which come in other meat and flavor options, too.
- Organic Halva in a variety of flavors, only three ingredients.
- Maple Sugar Leaf Candy — We give these to our kids every year in their stockings, and have forever. They are a one-ingredient (pure maple syrup) melt in your mouth maple sugar candy, and they are almost heavenly. A wonderful alternative to all the “bad” candy options out there, but still a real treat! I recommend buying these tiny food-safe zip bags to distribute and keep fresh the bulk maple candy.
2024 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: Food-Related Gifts
- Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer — This inexpensive gadget is awesome for those of us who like to buy in bulk or seal out air for freshness (to avoid rancidity with dry goods).
- My newer-to-me Tortilla Press is my new favorite kitchen gadget. I’ve had it maybe two years, and I debated whether it was worth buying, but I ended up LOVING it! Now, making tortillas for dinner is SO easy, and my family, of course, is always excited. (I use parchment paper when pressing, so no clean up, no sticking. I often make cassava tortillas or flatbread, and sometimes masa ones.)
- Kitchen in the box is on MY Christmas list this year. Meaning, I am buying it for myself, ha, ha! This amazing food processor is the best Black Friday sale (so inexpensive), and it’s got …. (wait for it), a stainless steel bowl! I have looked for this for years, and it’s finally available in a small portable, lightweight, unusual design that I love! This food processor chops veggies, grinds meat, makes nut butters, creates easy chunky salsa and more.
- The best stainless steel Milk Frother is such a thoughtful gift that will get used a lot! My mom received this gift from her brother a couple of years ago and continues to use it daily. Buyers and users love this kitchen item, yet most models are lined with non-stick coating. With most models the coating wears off, and the motor burns up by the first year of use. Choose this stainless steel product instead, with good customer service and a 1-year warranty. If you have someone in your life who loves steamed milk (including non-dairy) by itself or for cappuccinos, coffee, hot chocolates etc, this is a luxury item to add a new special morning ritual that’s happy-making. Cleans up really easily! (another rare quality for frothers).
- I’m excited this year to be recommending a soup pot. So many of us have old soup and pasta pots that don’t heat evenly or have unsafe linings. This thick-bottomed pot heats uniformly, is big enough for soup or boiling pasta, but it’s not so big as to be clunky, too deep or unmanageable. All-Clad is considered the best pan in the U.S. for heat conduction during cooking — and safety, which means not leaching metal into our food. Made in the U.S. with thousands of happy fans, I can personally attest to the quality of this pan.
- I get a lot of questions from readers about which waffle iron I recommend. It’s this one. We love it, and it’s lasted the longest of any waffle iron we’ve owned. We also purchased the insurance on it, so after three years when it started showing signs of wear, we recently replaced ours for just the cost of insurance!! What a deal. 🙂
- This beautiful Alessi Stainless Steel Tea Kettle is in my official top 3 picks for tea kettles. It’s beautiful and safe. Or this one, made in Japan, is less expensive, also handsome, and also in my top 3 picks for safe tea kettles.
- An Instant Pot. I use mine every single day. If you have a loved one who uses theirs a lot, too, another great gift that’s less expensive is a second insert. This allows you to keep leftovers or something you’ve just cooked in the first, but move on to a second recipe in the second insert. Like: make stew, (store it in the fridge), then make bread, rice, beans, applesauce or yogurt. Also find IP accessories HERE, and the clear Glass Lid HERE.
- This item is popular with my readers, many of whom find Eat Beautiful through one of my ice cream recipes (especially Vanilla!): It’s a great basic ice cream maker. A good price point for an affordable but nice gift.
- Items readers have loved in past years from this list: the Paderno brand spiralizer. I’ve personally purchased and tried out the three leading brands of spiralizer, and this one wins. A great way to have really satisfying, fun, delicious noodles that are both gluten and grain-free, plus optionally low carb.
2024 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: For Women, for Moms
I consider most of the gift suggestions on this page great for women, but here are a few more specifically.
- Real Silk Pillowcases improve hair and skin quality, and even sleep quality for some. Beautiful, soft and a very appreciated gift.
- New Birdie Self-Defense Personal Safety Alarm — Considered a new and better option than pepper spray and tasers, because you can scare off predators without having to get close at all, Birdie is made for women by women, but obviously would be great for anyone. I’ve given this gift many times to the women closest to me. This year, I finally bought one for myself.
- Sperti Sun Lamps are the best big gift for any woman, to help her feel her healthiest and most energetic. This superior sun lamp causes the body to produce vitamin D, and is a necessary supplement for anyone living in cloudy winter weather. They’re offering 10% off this month with this link and code GiveLight10. Feel free to ask me more about this in the Comments below if you have questions. I own one myself and use it every other day each fall and winter, into the spring, but it can also be used as little as five minutes once a week for benefits.
- Natural Weighted Blanket — For naps or a good night’s sleep (when sleep aids may not work), this approach to sleep is so calming, comforting and relaxing.
2024 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: For Him, Men, Sons, Boyfriends
This section includes items that are healthier for you or your man’s body, and/or the environment — plus gifts that are fun to receive!
- Massage Gun — Both my sons LOVE our massage gun. After any heavy workout, this tool is a great comfort. A terrific gift for any lifters or athletes in your life.
- Men’s Slippers — Here I share my favorites:
- Leather Slip-ons — These fashionable slip-ons with sheepskin shearling lining have an optional drop-in heal and can be worn indoors or out. Nice wide toe box and low heal for foot health.
- SUPER inexpensive slippers that meet multiple needs! I love this slipper option because they have a wide toe box (better for foot health, balance and/or inflammation), natural heel height, no-slip bottoms and can go inside or outside. This is a slipper that solves many people’s problems, and for a very low price.
- I got a popular Solo Stove portable fire pit for my husband three years ago, and it was a big hit, plus it’s been so much fun to use these past three years. Smoke-free and portable, it’s classy and comes in 3 sizes. I love the way this gift gathers family and friends together for great times outdoors. Set it up in your backyard, take it camping, enjoy it with friends, and it’s safe, too. Find Solo Stoves here. Various sales are running the whole month of November, and from 11/25 – 12/3: Up to 50% Off Everything.
- My husband asked for this beautiful leather dopp kit (overnight toiletry bag) this year, as I got two for our boys last year, and he wondered where his was! (Sorry, Tim!) My favorite’s the Walnut Brown, but there are five colors from which to choose.
- This Solar Phone Charger is a great new camping essential for extra safety, and also ideal for many emergency situations. We’ve enjoyed using the ones we bought last year; great BF sale item.
- Almost every man I’ve met loves beef. Get him a beef jerky subscription (grass-finished) or bulk beef jerky from Paleo Valley here.
- My husband LOVES his Stainless Steel Manual Coffee Grinder. If you have a man who enjoys his daily coffee ritual, or needs a new one, this manual gadget is a pleasure that produces uniformly ground coffee to any desired fineness.
2024 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: Teenage and Kids’ Gifts
Hard-to-find good gifts for teenage girls and teenage boys, and little kids, too:
- The USA National Parks Guide Book for Kids is great for any child that can read on up through teenagers. If you’re going on a road trip, this companion is a nice way for kids to contribute what they want to do or see, and keep them busy with excitement for what’s up next. Also fun for just looking at, and dreaming about/planning future vacations.
- It’s really hard to find great 2-person games. Exploding Kittens is just that, but it can also be played by up to 4 players … or more if you combine games. The cards are funny, include strategy, and it works well for junior high and high schoolers, on up to adults! Ages 8 and up can play.
- Always a safe gift: a Hydro Flask Water Bottle. Choose the best color for your kid’s taste. Great price. Everyone needs one, and it’s nice to have two or more. Much better to drink out of stainless steel than plastic. And it’s insulated.
- Some of the teenage girls in my life love to burn scented candles in their room. This ceramic Wax Melter creates a safer scenario, and it’s lovely. Pair with natural wax melts like these or this.
- Many pre-teens and teens aren’t quick to receive snuggles, but they still need the comfort and calming qualities snuggles provide. Many teens will love to curl up with a weighted blanket or use it to get to sleep/sleep better.
- Every year I recommend books, because we’re a family that loves to read, and it’s great to give books that kids are guaranteed to love. This whole series by Jeffrey Brown is so funny, surprising and witty. For kids all the way up to adults, you can’t go wrong with any of these Star Wars favorites, from his older Darth books to his newer ones.
- If you’re looking for more classic book suggestions, just ask in the Comments below, and I’m happy to share favorites from the genre you have in mind. 🙂
- Magnetic Drawing Board for kids, teens and adults is an awesome way to fill the time on long drives, during sporting events and more. I got this for our two youngest kids (ages 5 and 14 at the time) two summers ago for a drive to MT, and it’s still a favorite with both of them.
- This natural Wooden Wobble Board is excellent for younger kids all the way up to older teens. It helps with emotional regulation (great during the winter months when kids can’t get out to play as much), as well as balance, athleticism and more.

Emily @ Recipes to Nourish says
This is such a fun list! I ordered books 1-7 of Harry Potter for my oldest for Christmas. I know she’s going to be so excited about it. Love how thoughtful all of these ideas are.
Megan Stevens says
Oh, yay, Emily!! I hope she snuggles close to you when she starts the 4th book. I read that one when I was pregnant with our first child, and it felt so scary to me. My kids kind of laugh at me, though; I’m sure she’ll be fine. 😉
Marjorieann1977 says
I love this list! So many thoughtful gifts. The book list sounds so interesting!
Megan Stevens says
Thanks, Marjorie!
Kelsey Steffen says
This is a great list with some very thoughtful ideas. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
Megan Stevens says
You’re welcome, Kelsey! Thanks.
Carol @studiobotanica says
Thanks for putting this list together, Megan! Excellent ideas. We are very alike. I would rather support small business whenever possible and purchase less but higher quality items as budget permits. What’s a gift if not a little splurge? Love that scarf you bought your beloved and yes, it suits him. I’m sure I’ve seen a picture with him sporting it!
Yes, would appeal to many ages.
I love that dehydrator and delight in its efficiency and ability to transform food.
LOVE the list.. Will share on my page. Love to you and your family, always. C
Megan Stevens says
Aw, lovely, Carol, thanks for all your fun words!! Love to you and yours, too!! xx
Sally Avery says
Megan,
What a fantastic gift list – thank you for sharing it! I’m seeing people comment on a book list and a scarf you bought for your husband, but I’m afraid I’m not seeing either of these things in your gift guide. Did I miss something?
Sally
Megan says
Thank you, Sally! Yes, so the reason is that I re-do this list each year instead of keeping the old holiday gift posts (which are dated, so not healthy for the website if no one reads them anymore). I just went to see if I could find the scarf again. I’m almost sure it’s this one, although they don’t have the color pattern I bought for my husband anymore: https://amzn.to/3VojeQ2 To this day, it’s his only scarf. It’s still in perfect condition and beautiful. I’m a big book lover, so most years I recommend books, especially for kids, but sometimes about environmental or dietary topics, but this year I didn’t. Let me know if you want any book recommendations from the past, and I’ll see what I can do. 🙂 So happy the list is fun or helpful!
Sally says
Wonderful! I’ll check out the scarf.
I would love to see your book recommendations! Please share it.

I recently purchased that very same spiralizer for myself and one of my best friends. We both LOVE ours so much!
Megan Stevens says
Yay!! Super fun to hear! I often ask my youngest son to spiralize for me, which makes dinner really fast to make, and he enjoys it. 🙂
Bernice Carbaugh says
Thanks, Megan! I can always trust your recommendations, so this is helping me with my list. Getting a couple of spiralizers and yoga mat for gifts now, and the scooter is a great idea for future birthdays!
Megan says
Great, Bernice!!! I’m so happy the recommendations are helpful, and I love hearing what you chose and what resonated! YAY! xoxo!
Sally says
Hi Megan,
Thank you for sharing this thoughtful list. Perhaps it was last year’s list, but I recall you recommending a nice wool or cashmere men’s scarf that your husband really loved. Can you share the link for that, please?
Thanks!
Sally
Megan says
Hi Sally, you’re welcome. My new favorite feature on Amazon is the Search box on the Orders page; I was able to pull it up right away, but it is not available right now. The price was $39, and it was Irish lambswool, so this one looks very similar, although the colors are different: https://amzn.to/3N29tFs I hope that helps. If you want different colors, you could type in Irish lambswool plaid scarf, and there seems to be a lot of competition and options in that category. Best!
