Ingredients in Coconut Butter Icing
See the main Recipe card below for amounts and the exact recipe.
Five simple ingredients go into this fast icing recipe:
- coconut butter — As much as I love Homemade Coconut Butter, for the glaze, you may prefer store bought for how smooth it is.
- coconut milk
- coconut oil
- maple syrup — or use honey for GAPS
- essential oil of choice: Lemon, Lavender and Orange are all examples of popular choices, depending on your baked good. I haven’t used pure vanilla extract, but I’m sure that would work, too.
How to make Coconut Butter Icing
- In a small bowl or pyrex measuring cup with pour spout, mix all ingredients: runny coconut butter, coconut milk, coconut oil and maple syrup, plus essential oil, until thoroughly combined, using a small whisk or fork. (Make sure the ingredients are slightly warm or very room temperature; otherwise, the coconut butter will harden.)
- Your icing is ready. Pipe, or slowly pour, it on in a pretty drizzle!
