Homemade Limeade (refined sugar free, Paleo, AIP, Keto)

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4-¼ cups water filtered, divided
  • 3/4 cup honey , maple syrup, agave nectar, or for Keto, liquid allulose or similar
  • 2/3 cup lime juice fresh, from 6 limes
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt, or Potassium Lite Salt, or Electrolyte Drink Mix (salt, potassium and magnesium, for an electrolyte twist on this drink)
  • ice for serving

Instructions

  • In small saucepan, create Honey (or preferred sweetener) Simple Syrup: Combine 1 cup water, sweetener and sea salt over medium heat. Stir until sweetener and salt are fully dissolved. Remove from heat. (Water should not come to a simmer.)
  • In a large pitcher or mason jar with lid, combine Simple Syrup, remaining water and fresh lime juice. (Taste to see if you like more water, sweetener or lime juice, and adjust if needed.)

  • Pour over ice to serve. Garnish with slices of lime, and/or fresh mint. Optional, garnish with a drizzle of Basil Simple Syrup.
