scant ½teaspoonsalt (sodium chloride); Re specific brands of salt: Use 1/2 + 1/4 teaspoon if you use the best recommended no heavy metals salt (Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt here) for 840 mg sodium; (With the scant 1/2 tsp, you get 1000mg of sodium with Jacobsen Oregon sea salt; or if you use white sea salt, for 930mg sodium, measure ¼ + ⅛ teaspoon. Read more about these brands and sodium contents below the recipe.)
¼teaspoonpotassium chloride<-- This brand (2 scoops), which I find to be the best overall and in flavor. (730mg of potassium)
1 to 2Tablespoons optionalmaple syrupto preference; Or, for Keto: stevia or preferred low carb sweetener, to taste, such as allulose (For GAPS, it's okay to use honey, or omit sweetener.)

BULK RECIPE -- Pre-mixed powder in a jar, one scoop only! each time you make up your water bottle (¾ + ⅛ teaspoons [or just under 1 teaspoon])
See Notes section below.
Notes
Sodium amounts by brand of salt
Sodium amounts vary a lot depending on the brand of salt you buy. I recommend Diamond Crystal Salt because it's the lowest in all heavy metals, including lead. And it's cheap, flavorful, plus you can buy it in bulk. This is a new update to the article that I'm excited about for all of us. (Find Diamond Crystal Salt here.)Below, see the sodium variations of three salt choices. Each dose of sodium is for the 1/2 teaspoon used in this recipe:
Diamond Crystal — 560mg (To get 840mg, measure 1/2 + 1/4 tsp of this brand.)
Jacobsen Salt (the one sourced in Oregon) — 780mg sodium (This is another healthy salt, but it's not as low in other heavy metals, and it's a lot more expensive.)
Morton's table salt — 1180mg sodium (To get 885mg, measure ¼ + ⅛ teaspoon.) I avoid iodized.
Conclusion:If you make this recipe with Diamond Crystal, use more salt, unless you want the lower dose of sodium because you won't be sweating as much. If you choose a table salt, you can use slightly less than the scant 1/2 teaspoon designated.
